Might as well get this thread goin. Since Jim got an early start on herpin' huntin' this year.

So what have you found so far this year?....Remember post a reply whenever you find or just happen to cross paths with herps while out herp hunting or just out and about.

Not in the den.
Since it's that far southwest, some herps may be out also.
Don't know for sure.

Well I went out when we were having the thunderstorms, hoping to find for sallies and frogs, but came up empty handed. A guy went out the day after in clark county arkansas and found 12 spotted sallies, 6 leopards, and a ton of chorus frogs. If we get some more rain tonight I might go out again.

I've been hearing the Strecker's chorus, boreal chorus, and southern leopard frogs around my house lately.

Spring break is next week and I plan to spend much of that out looking. Hopefully get some nice photos.

Must have crossbred with a woodhouse toad or something? All in all it's a sweet find for being this early in the season!
