I'd count it! Now the real question is were you on the hunt for it, or was it on the hunt for you?..... DUN DUN DUN!!!

I went out tonight for about 45min road crusin and found a run over ribbon snake and a couple of pancake toads. I also saved a pretty big one in the middle of Hwy 9 on the way home. I thought id enjoy it in my greenhouse for a little while. It just sat in the cup holder the whole way home, as content as could be! :D

Found another little ringneck tonight, and almost caught a blotched water snake that was in the pond at the park, but it got away.

Today I went out around the south side of Lake Thunderbird and found some Dwarf American Toads calling and mating in a small cove accompanied by several Southern Leopard Frogs. I noticed several of the toads were in the process of calling, mating and laying eggs. I collected a pair and they layed eggs in the deli cup! Thought it'd be fun to show my wife the life cycle from egg to toad.

Pair I collected and string of about a couple hundred eggs.

And the woodhouse toad I saved last night found a new home in a hollowed out log in the greenhouse.

Benj, you are a one-man Discovery Channel. Very cool video, sounds and still pics. Wow!

Nice pics! That bullfrog is huge, but I would lean toward female, full of eggs. It has a rather small tympanum for a male. A male's tympanum should be at least twice that size.

:D Yeah orignally when I saw her tympanum thats what I thought also. I even wrote in the post it was a female until I checked the guide book and showed the pic saying adult male. so I editied the post and switched it to male. I guess I should've gone with my instinct and put female since I've caught both sexes before and know the difference. Thanks though Richard, always good to get a teachers confirmation!

I haven't got to do any active hunting, but I've seen 1 bullsnake and one orange ribbon snake HBC, one live bullsnake (what a beauty!), one black rat, one rat snake intergrade, and saved a RES from the highway. Also, found a Great Plains Toad HBC. I hate HBCs!
